I really procrastinated and didn’t study nearly as much as everyone else here. However, my worked paid for the boot camp as well so spending the 30 bucks wasn’t going to break the bank. I purchased AR Udemy just to watch the mindset but I am not sure it was any different than what PMA had. I did buy study hall and would answer questions on my phone when I was bored. I actually studied for about 1-2 hours total after the course. I took PMAs four day boot camp in February over two weekends. People will answer lol!Įither way, I say this to say, gather your information, asses your strong points, and practice! You can pass this test on the first try! Everyone’s experience is not yours! YOU GOT IT ❤️Īs you can tell there are varying answers here with what works for individual people. just come to this sub and post the picture. You’ll find yourself looking like “wth did I just read”. This sub is great for providing clarification when PMI SH fails to give a real good explanation of why an answer is the answer. Otherwise practice practice practice! I downloaded the PMI SH app on my phone and would answer practice questions constantly through the day. ![]() I also used Andrew Ramadayal’s Udemy course for an overview of the basic material. I had a few questions on the exam that damn near mocked practice questions. However, I found this source to be the most like the actual exam. Don’t trip if your scores in SH are below 80%. I would suggest using the PMI Study Hall for practice questions and tests. With your IT background, you should be accustomed to agile methodology which is a plus. I just passed on February 2022 with Above Target on all domains. I am a Project Coordinator in the construction field and some processes were relatively relatable, which I feel helped me grasp a better understanding. Value placed on PMP certification varies by company, but larger organizations tend to place more importance on it.The test is difficult but with adequate studying and giving yourself time, you can pass it on your first time. Real-world experience, communication, leadership, and problem-solving are way more crucial. Its like a confirmation that you know what you are talking about.Įmployers often seek PMP-certified candidates, showing it's a benchmark for project management knowledge and skills.īut when you are on the job, PMP is not the only factor for success. While as hiring manager (especially big companies) you can not be 100% sure if you are hiring a right person for the role PMP as a certification just bring credibility to it. ![]() Though PMP certification is still relevant in the job market for project management positions, especially because HR is preparing the JD and getting it approved by your lazy hiring manager ( Read people like us) If you're using it for a promotion/raise, talk to your boss or someone from your company if that's all you're getting it for. It doesn't hurt to ask your employer how they value certain certs/degrees.īottom line - if you're looking for, or going to be looking for a job soon, it helps open a lot of doors and can be a boost when negotiating salary, especially if you have less experience.
